With Cubzh, gamers, creators, artists and coders can deploy "simple cubes" to make UGC items, decorations and maps.Ĭubzh has launched its open alpha test, allowing developers to get the software for free through the popular gaming marketplace Steam. That reminded the founders of building Lego toys, and they set out to make their own UGC platform that also uses symmetrical cubes to generate multi-platform content, living up to "Lego fans' ambitions." Minecraft's roaming worlds are made up of perfectly symmetrical cubes which allow creators to realise their vision without free-styling skills. The seed round, which appears to be Cubzh's first publicly-disclosed funding, is backed by the business angels Solomon Hykes (founder of Docker) and Nicolas Julia (CEO of sport crypto-gaming platform Sorare).ģD content platforms allow hobbyists to make custom-made content for roaming virtual worlds in computer games, animations and VR.Ĭo-founded by former mobiles games developers Adrian Duermael and Gaetan de Villele, Cubzh started life as a hack on the popular UGC sandbox game Minecraft. Cubzh, a user-generated 3D content building platform based in Paris, is today unveiling a $3 million seed round led by European seed fund New Wave.
